Desertification is a difficulty occurring in the Northeast region, this phenomenon has been affecting areas of the planet Earth, since these episodes have been caused due to climatic variables grouped together with the improper use of soils in arid and semi-arid zones and periods of drought. The main objective is to analyze human actions in connection with climate variables. The research has an exploratory nature and is theoretically based on the subject. The article encourages a bibliographic survey of articles published in scientific events, journals, master's thesis and knowledge involving climatology. The results indicate that desertification in the Brazilian northeast region is the removal of vegetation cover, deforestation, livestock activities. However, climatic variations contribute to weakening dryland ecosystems and can also trigger and/or worsen sustainability.
