This article aims to analyze the practices and challenges in the teaching of Medieval History in basic education based on the reports of teachers who work in public schools in Belém (Pará State, Brazil). Through interviews with teachers, the work analyzes which contents of Medieval History are prioritized In the classroom; The way in which teachers use textbooks in the contents related to Medieval History; Which didactic resources are used in Medieval History classes in schools; The challenges of teaching this subject in the public school; And how the teachers evaluate the contributions of their formation in the courses of History in the practices of teaching in Medieval History. We understand that to talk about teaching Medieval History it is necessary to listen to those who have the daily challenge of teaching in basic education.
