The present work presents the record of a teaching experience in a School of Early Childhood Education in the district of Maragogipe-BA and it points to the necessity of working History Teaching in this educational universe. It was used the methodology of storytelling with the Afro-Brazilian theme as a facilitator and helper in the (re)reconstruction of the ethnic-racial identity of children between 4 and 5 years old.
