TRANSLATING AND INTERPRETING THE FIRST WORLD WAR POSTERS

This teaching experience aims to expose a project of interdisciplinary activity between the disciplines of History and English. This was held in the first two months of 2014 and 2015 with students of the 9th grade of public school Dr. Rabindranath Tagore dos Santos Pires, located in São Roque, São Paulo. The project consisted of translation and interpretation activities of North American and British posters produced during World War I. The developed activity aimed to feasible the contact of students with historical sources, and with the help of English teachers provides students with the means to decipher analyze and interpret these historical sources.
