Abstract

The song "O Menino do Morro" was definitely one of the most propagated songs of the rap band from São Paulo Facção Central. This article focus on the process of articulation among rap and marginal literature, by reading "O Menino do Morro virou Deus", book by Bruno Rico. Assumedly based on the song, the book is the result of reception, decoding and rearticulation of the song within the literary field. Therefore, in this article I analyze which elements are shared by the two works, how the writer could reshape them and how rap and literature have deep dialogues in brazilian social scene on the twentieth century beginning.
