Abstract

This article aims to expose some reflections about fashion analysis in a sociological and historical investigation field, breaking a supposed superficiality. Analyze other side, the fashion contained in ephemerality and historicity of a social, historical and identity witness in a specific time, a cycle, even more frenetic of changing. To reflect about how fashion is a direct communication form and how is used to social acceptance, trying to understand how people started to consume clothes in a growing level as symbols, in other words, the symbolic meaning above of the real use value, the fetishism and reification contained in fashion. Finally, aims to expose the relation between this symbolic consumption of fashion and the identity and cultural fragmentation in a more intensified form in postmodernism.
