This paper analyzes the notion of Mitmensch, commonly translated as “fellow human” and understood as “being-with-others,” as presented in Eugen Fink’s Fundamental Phenomena of Human Existence (1955) and in the essay Oasis of Happiness (1957). It examines how the human being understands oneself, others, and the world through the five fundamental phenomena: death, love, work, struggle, and play. Based on Fink’s conception of existence, the human emerges as an intramundane entity: Mitsein mit Mitmenschen, that is, being-together-with-others. Thus, the study highlights the co-existential and essentially worldly character of the human condition.
