A Nietzschean reflection on Lars von Trier’s Film

This work aims to analyze Lars von Trier’s movie (Antichrist, 2009) through the conceptual lens proposed by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, in The Antichrist (2002). It seeks to counter the media-driven narrative that frames the Danish director’s work as an ode to machismo. Employing a bibliographic research method, the study engages with various philosophical tendences of the film, in order to broaden the horizon of the aesthetic dimensions and confront them with the German philologist’s conceptual framework. Finally, the study explores how the film deconstructs religious and moral values, aligning with the Nietzsche’s philosophic theoretical perspective.
