Abstract

There are two main ways to study Bachelard’s epistemology. The first is by approaching it through the issues of the History of Science, considering how to think about epistemology historically, especially when analyzing the connections between the consciousness of modernity and the consciousness of historicity. The second way is by associating it with a more recent research program, which explores the role played by logic and mathematics in the epistemology of some early logical empiricists from the 1930s, as well as the debate around Bachelard’s works that address this same evaluation. However, we propose an alternative approach to understanding Bachelard’s epistemology. We suggest evaluating and identifying the logical-philosophical project underlying any interpretation of his work.
