Art and Eroticism in Psychedelic Counterculture from the 1960s/70s through the Comics

The psychedelic counterculture that began around 1964, with its sexual revolution inspired by the motto Peace and Love, preached free love and a more personal natural morality. It brought about diverse questions, the realization of sexual diversity, and raised gender, political and racial issues that still have repercussions today. Many artists, sensitive to these issues, sought to represent eroticism and the mentality of the time in a provocative way. Many were persecuted by a conservative system that sought to stifle and invalidate the movement in many ways. This article aims to briefly show some psychedelic/visionary artists and some of their work from the period through the lens of comics.
