A theory of action within the framework of the phenomenological ontology of Being and Nothingness

The purpose of the paper is to address the way in which Sartre's theory of action is a fundamental part of the phenomenological ontology exposed by Sartre in Being and Nothingness. Just as action is fundamental within said ontology, Sartre's theory of action finds its foundation in ontological statements that respond to a certain understanding of fundamental concepts such as being and nothing. In this regard, it is relevant to highlight the survival of Sartre's proposals in later texts such as the Critique of Dialectical Reason. The negative sense of the action and its moment of totalization and retotalization of the world configure a dialectic whose outlines can already be found in the work of 1943Downloads
