This article has as its theme the challenges of democratic school management: Excerpt from an experience in a public institution in the city of Juazeiro do Norte-Ce. Its general objective is to present the challenges faced by the administrative manager of schools; We set out as an object of investigation a bibliographical review and experience as a manager in that institution. We will approach a democratic management thinking collectively that requires sustained decision-making in dialogue, participation and collective construction of rules and procedures with guiding questions of a democratic school management.
