It is with great satisfaction that the editorial team announces the launch of the 12th edition of “Revista de História Bilros: História(s), Sociedade(s) e Cultura(s)”. As mentioned in previous editions, this journal is, and continues to be, the result of the interest and the joint effort of undergraduate students in History and of the MAHIS of the State University of Ceará (UECE), as well as doctoral students graduates of this same public institution and are now in other postgraduate programs. So we came to the second edition of volume 6 for the year 2018 composed of 16 unpublished texts of academics and academics from universities all over Brazil. This edition is composed of thirteen free articles, two teaching experiences and an interview with the historian Beatriz Gallotti Mamigonian, one of the organizers of the movement / collective Historians for Democracy.
Before we begin properly the presentation of each text contained in this edition, a quick but important pronouncement of editorial coordination is necessary. Amid the difficult and complex political-ideological moment in Brazil, where possible scenarios lead part of the population to flirt with authoritarianism and fascism, we in the Revista de História Bilros would like to reinforce our commitment to democratic and progressive practices. We reaffirm the ethical values practiced by the people that compose this electronic journal and abhor any hate speech be it against blacks and blacks, indigenous people, women, poor people, northeastern Brazilians, homosexuals, trans people or any other sector of the population. We stand in the front trenches of the struggle for a Brazil and an academy that distances itself from any sympathy with this type of discourse and practice, and we defend the democratic state of law and the university / public education, autonomous and of quality.
