Keywords:
Rock Scene, Urbanity, SongAbstract
The present work aims to analyze the contrasts between urbanity and rurality in the Florianópolis’ rock scene of the 1980s. For this, it starts with the analysis of two songs from the album Nas Manhãs do Sul do Mundo, from Santa Catarina band’s Expresso Rural, as well as interviews with people who were involved in this scene and excerpts from newspapers that gave space for the musical genre in the period. It light it up the dialogue between space and song as a central point to understand the relations between the individuals of this scene. Going beyond mere circulation, the concern here is to weave lines between these two interpretive poles, aiming to connect them by bridges, joining together points that did not have an apparent connection. , evidencing the fragments of a city that modernized itself. And paying attention to the sometimes small spaces of rock in Florianópolis, will be essential to understand different ways of constituting images about the city and, therefore, of the musical genre.
