Abstract

This article analyzes the constructions of memories about suicide, problematizing the attribution of meanings and the construction of discourses based on gender relations in the interior region of the State of Paraná. This research is based on the analysis of the discursive constructions produced in this moment from the memoirs about a suicide / homicide occurred in the city of Coronel Vivida, southwest region of Paraná, in the early 1970s. We seek to understand how the re - significations of memories - create the past from the interviewees' experiences, establishing connections between the conceptions - temporarily changeable - of the sexual roles created in the imaginary of society and present in the narrators. Thus, the research is structured through oral sources, having as reference Portelli and Polack for the understanding and conceptualization of orality and memory, as well as Wadi and Matos that allow to reflect on the relation between suicide and gender.
