The present work aims to problematizing the drought and public policy fronts of emergency, created to minimise the effects of droughts. The starting point of this research is the analysis of images produced on emergency work fronts, in the 1970s, in the city of Monte Horeb-Paraíba. For the methodological theoretical Foundation of this text, as far as the image is concerned, the ideas of Dubois (1993) and Mauad (2005) are considered. He sought to use works that talk about droughts and emergency fronts, in its social and political dimensions, we highlight: Ferreira (1993), Neves (2011), Castro (2011) and Silva Brito (2017). Finally, it is understood that the experiences of droughts have a close relationship with the socioeconomic conditions of the region in which they occurred and therefore variant of each site. The images as historiographical source provide us distances and proximity of the reality, which sometimes allows us to create problems on the photographic Act itself, as well as the fact/event that the Photographic Act is inserted, taking into consideration that the image represents A link with a historical moment inserted in a social and cultural context.
