Abstract

In this search, I broach of paraense jewelry produced, exposed and commercialized at Polo Joalheiro in the city of Belém-PA, installed in Espaço São José Liberto. Since its creation in 1998, the Programa Polo Joalheiro has sought to appropriate the poetic narrative of the Amazonian imagination by operating as a material and aesthetic support on the designers who create jewels based on their references, whether they are imaginary memories and / or Visual, by adding meanings and values belonging to the local culture, translating the regional identity through: concepts, history, customs, legends, myths, insertion of cultural elements such as fauna, flora, folkloric and religious festivities. To that end, I approach the issues of identity construction of postmodern subjects in order to understand the specificities of called amazonian identity.
