THE HOLY JUREMA IN ACADEMIC STUDIES

Abstract

This article has the objective of make a brief survey of the academic productions that have as a theme the Jurema Sagrada. From this survey we will verify how the theme has been developed, in which universities the researchs were produced, and which areas of knowledge were dedicated to the theme. This information will be summarized in a table presented in the article, from which we anticipate the predominance of research on the Jurema Sagrada in the northeast region, geographical location where there are the first records on this religious practice. Our intention, therefore, is to verify how the memory of the Sacred Jurema, a brazilian religion of indigenous ancestry, is being constructed.
