Abstract

Michel Foucault has never theorized power. For him, power was not unitary, globalizing, but heterogeneous, historic and in constant transformation. This article demonstrates the Foucault’s conception of the intellectual and this relation to the collapse of the powers. For this, we will use the concept intellectual described by Michel Foucault in his book Microphysics of power, to demonstrate that the intellectual's role today it’s to separate the power of the truth from his hegemonic forms (social, cultural and economic). The only way for the intellectual not connected to power is to disassociate himself from his professional identity and class.
