THE FESTIVE CULT TO THE SENHOR DO BONFIM OF YESTERYEAR
ASPECTS AND FORMS OF POPULAR PARTICIPATION

The article presents some elements about the festive service to the Lord of Bonfim in Salvador, Bahia, as it happened most strongly up to the end of the 1980s. In this sense, it composes this analysis, elements and forms of popular participation in the feast that, to our days do not exist, they do not, as it were, make up the structure and the programming of this festive cultural practice, for example, the Suits and Ranches which, as will be seen throughout the reading, lost their breath in the time of their history in the conjuncture of the late eighties of the twentieth century, giving way to other manifestations and forms of participation that announced the arrival of new times in the party, this, in the context in question, came to be crossed by a vigorous process of reconfiguration.
