Abstract

This article discusses about preservation process in Morro da Conceição in Rio de Janeiro occurred in the 1980s, understanding it as an important example to elaborate on the changes and the search for new preservation of cultural heritage instruments that are configured in that time. In addition, the analysis of a proposed conservation project makes it possible to observe the theme of convergence of preservation and revitalization in urban planning projects in big cities.
