The work is entered under the studies on race relations and education, from the perspective of seeking a better understanding of the responsible infra-school factors by not appreciation of black person and African descendants in Brazilian culture. So the analysis proposes a bibliographical research of deepening theoretical methodological understanding slant (GUERRA, 2006), from the analysis of the History Curricular Component of PNLDs from 2010 to 2014. The analysis performed making a reflection about the treatment given to the elements of obligation in Law 10.639/03 and also as references National Guidelines for Racial and Ethnic Relations Education, the Teaching of History African and Afro-Brazilian Culture. Checking so, changes, or the non-existence of it, in relation to the concept of "being black", as well as didactic treatment on diversity and appreciation of black population as participants of the construction of Brazilian national identity. The results found in the books which were interpreted; show that significant changes occurred in relation to the illustrations. Illustrations of black people with deformed traits were no longer observed, showing the black people image in a positive way.
