ON THE DIFFICULTY OF LOVING THY NEIGHBOUR IN THE “VALERIE’S LETTER” IN THE GRAPHIC NOVEL “V FOR VENDETTA”
Keywords:
Bauman, Loving they neighbour, History, Graphic Novels, V for vendettaAbstract
In this theoretical exercise, we seek to make a counterpoint between some thesis and assumptions of the polish sociologist Zygmunt Bauman on the difficulty of loving thy neighbour with the plot of the graphic novel “V for vendetta”, written by Alan Moore in the 1980s. Our intent is put in discussion topics prevalent in our society defined as post-modernist that, although the globalization and interconnection, still lives with problems like disrespect of plurality, extremism/authoritarianism political and social and intolerance against minorities ethnics, religious and gender. we believe that this articulation can help in understanding of the Bauman’s thesis, suggesting yet some reflefexions about the social relationships around us and in our historical time.
