This article examines the comedy Julho, 10! produced by female workers during the military dictatorship of Vargas administration. The text dialogues all the time with the principles defended by the “Estado Novo” in a sort of “inverted engagement”, that is, as a discourse allied with the logic of capital. Although it dovetailed with all the governmental repertoire which preached the harmony between the classes, it raises an important question: despite its condemnation and attempt of obfuscating the class conflict, it somewhat reveals the memory of these conflicts, in other words, the representations of the world of labor and of the worker movement.
