The political context of intensification of repression, with the advent of the military regime, and the effervescence of cultural production, with changes in various artistic expressions, constituted as a rich mosaic for experiences in the 1960s and 1970s . In Ceará, as well as in the rest of Brazil, a generation of young people, artists, bohemians and activists have engaged in cultural production, with participations in music festivals and television programs. The highlights in local scenery created opportunities for a number of Ceará’s singers and composers for insertion in the music industry. Among them, Antonio Carlos Belchior excelled, signed contracts with record labels, released albums and became one of the leading artists of the MPB in the 1970s. His trajectory is a synthesis of the process of insertion of Ceará musicians in phonographic market of that period, marked by reconfiguration of the national scenery of MPB, where new artists and new musicality sought to build and conquer spaces. From the work with memory and orality of those who companied Belchior in this period, it becomes possible to produce a narrative about his trajectory where the relationship of Ceará’s musicians with the phonographic industry of the period is understandable.
