Abstract

This paper analyzes the space of Meet - Music & Lounge nightclub, a place geared toward a gay male audience, in Fortaleza, like a territory where symbolic games emerge and tout, in the movements of bodies, one of their maintenance. Knowing the nightclub as a space that allows constructions and assemblages of some types of bodies, possible from processes involving a significant reproduction of male life's forms, the study shows results of field research and theoretical dialogues that underlie their reflections on issues of body, gender and identity. Appropriate oh Oral History, the lines of old and new goers of the club will be crossed, making possible a mapping of bodies that are traded there. Accordingly, the reflections go in trying to understand what makes a Gays MEETIDOS's night possible in Fortaleza, mediated by the bodies, appearances, performances, revealing a territory marked by logic of regulation and control.
