Abstract

The article seeks to accomplish an approximation of certain aspects present in classic baroque with works of plastic artist Adriana Varejão having to fund the recovery of several elements of aesthetic representation and also conceptual of Brazilian history, used in the most peculiar way by artist, yielding to the work a new power in the creation of new meanings to some of the topics addressed in the Brazilian culture Having said that, the works of art opens the possibility of thinking old positions of historiography on certain topics. Finally, the idea is to think about how the art by one of the great metaphors of the baroque, in this case, meat, emerges as a way of questioning and thought that maintains a dialog with the discipline of history.
