THE REINTERPRETATION OF POPULAR CULTURE IN THE WORK COMPOSER BRANCA RANGEL

This article analyzes the reinterpretation of popular culture in the Branca Rangel composer of the work. Therefore, the trajectory of this pianist was recomposed along with their songs that were forgotten in the sound archives of the city of Fortaleza. Used as sources, these scores show how the composer entered the world of traditional festivals and customs, revealing to a literate public the features of a cearensidade reset after the urbanization process now Fortaleza. The studied period goes from 1892, date of birth, until 1963, the year of his death. The research is interdisciplinary work between the fields of History and Music. Its theoretical basis is centered on Popular Culture readings developed by Renato Ortiz and Geneviéve Bollème.
