Abstract

Objects of culture that can be interpreted as important tools in the normalization of culture, textbooks carry with them an expressive set of representations of reality that, in turn, legitimately seek meanings about the lived. Such senses mobilize memories - which, in addition to enabling the links between the past and the present, enable the construction and legitimation of identities. These, grounded in a series of behavioral patterns, seek to effect certain everyday practices that, in turn, separate intrinsically linked to the intentionalities that govern identity projects used - such as, for example, or Pan Americanism. A corollary of US republicanism, the project in question has influenced Brazil's foreign policy - which it intends, since the end of the XIX century, in line with US logic. This narrowing led the country to declare itself as an important nation on the continent - an "american giant." Given these considerations, you can research which are the following items that may promote some reflections and respect the relations between Brazilian foreign policy and Pan Americanism in the 1950s, seeking to understand their reflexes in the construction of representations about a Brazilian performance in the scenario.
