The Participation in University Planning:
a Case Study at Pará State University

This study brings with it the task of identifying the participatory strategic planning is a tool that contributes to institutional development, in that upper management realizes the importance of this process and how it will help define strategies and policies teaching, research and extension with the participation of senior management and the community. As a general objective, identifies the participatory strategic planning developed at the University of Pará - UEPA the period 2005-2009 enabled the definition of institutional objectives and contributed to the promotion of institutional development. At the end, it appears that the implementation of strategic planning in the research institution enabled the definition of institutional objectives and contributed to the promotion of institutional development.
