Abstract

The article seeks to show that the prison itself, regardless of its physical structure, its equipment and the care provided to the prisoner, is harmful, criminogenic and therefore hardly achieves the goal of rehabilitation. In his view, there is an antinomy between the goals of maintaining order and discipline and those of resocialization. For this reason, he advocates rethinking the current model, making the prison more humane and as much as possible similar to the outside world to which the condemned man will return one day.
