The violence novel and the violence in the theatrical scene of Lights Out

The article proposes a reflection about the contributions of the theater and the dramatic text to the studies of the sociology of violence and its figurations. Using the play Lights Out by the author Manjula Padmanabhan (1987) and a montage of this text performed by students of the Department of Dramatic Art at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)(2019) as a corpus of analysis, aspects of violence novels in the theatrical framework are discussed, highlighting, and fostering the dialogue between these.
