The following research was based on a comparative case study. The comparison is between the internalization process of Enem in two public and urban schools at Londrina/PR. We called “school dimension” such internalization process and considerer it as a possible motivator of social practices in contexts differentiated by their prestige levels. This research subscribes to the Brazilian Sociology of Education field. The methodology is designed as a comparative case study, in which semi-structured interviews were applied focusing on school principals and former school principals. The management sector was selected considering their responsibilities, or not, regarding an analog process of public policy implementation. The theoretical reference is neo-institutional sociology, regarding agency and structure simultaneously and as intercorrelated elements. We verified that in the school with less prestige, from which social practices motivated by Enem were not expected, it was clear a greater intentionality and activity disposition by its agents motivated by the exam. Differently, in the school with more prestige and famous on Enem informal ranks, we verified fewer social practices motivated by the exam, although we also verified a usage of the scores to sustain its prestige, and consequently, its communities demand.
