The place of theory and practice in the training of sociology teachers

Abstract

The process of reintroduction of the Sociology in High School has generated new demands on Brazilian Social Sciences, posing as necessary to reflect on the models of the Sociology teacher training. In this context, think of the relationship between theory and practice shows up as one of the main axes of this discussion. We propose in this paper to develop a reflection on the place of theory and practice in Sociology teacher training courses, considering the particular aspects that involve the teaching of this science in high school and the possibilities open in this new scenario, in which the sociology is present in school.
