Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine what is the conception of city and urban policy that their managers want to transmit through the advertisements
of urban intervention projects. The empirical referents of this research were images of future buildings on billboards, magazines and models of threedimensional visualization at the towns of Almada, in Portugal, and Fortaleza, in Brazil. Based on the representations of the requalification plans, I have
examined how the architectural designs are being appropriated by managers in the narratives of the urban reform process that the cities are experiencing at the recent years.
