Notas para a história da circulação de impressos e leituras libertárias no Brasil e em Portugal no século XX.
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the role that the circulation of printed matter and reading practices played in the self-education, information, and social intervention promoted by anarchist activists between Brazil and Portugal in the early decades of the 20th century. We highlight the role of the libertarian movement's educational and cultural practices as a prominent feature of their activism, since their very conception of social transformation required a shift in sensibilities and the formation of men and women committed to the values of freedom, mutual aid, and anti-authoritarianism. Based on a History of Books and Reading, we address periodicals, books, brochures, bulletins, and correspondence and discuss their role in the formation of libertarian protest consciousness
