the trajectory of the cearense council of women's rights - CCDM in enabling policies for women

The article deals with the processes of creation, formation and joint of the Cearense Council of Women’s Rights (CCDM) as a forum for dialogue between the state and civil society groups, identifying political forces, supporters and systematic implementation of public policies embraced by governments of the state of Ceará from the years 1986 to 2010 that dealt with peer pressure from civil society represented by local female delegates. Therefore, this study aims at the nature of the Council, pathways, achievements and actions of women who made up the collegial structure on the board during the period of 24 consecutive years as mentioned before. Through the words of council members, it was evident that the dynamics of the Council functioned as a body full of life and contradictions. Therefore, the article reveals core aspects found in 24 consecutive years of existence of the reffered Council while functioning in the political context of the country, identifying
the correspondent counselors, their political involvements, the main demands of the afore mentioned women’s movement of the time, and the most outstanding actions of the Council as a body of representation and promotion of public policies for the women of Ceará state along with accredited government actions.
