Avaliação das Políticas de Transplante de Órgãos e Tecidos no Estado do Ceará

Abstract

Organs and tissues transplant: evaluation of the Public Politics in the State of Ceará is a descriptive and exploratory study, with quantitative and qualitative approach, that has as general objective of evaluating the public politics of organs and tissues transplants in Ceará. Unfortunately there are still several deficiencies in the process of donating, collecting, distributing and transplanting organs and tissues in the national system of transplants as well as in the state offices of transplants, especially in relation to the totality of attention and to the lack of structural relevance among those involved in this process. The scene of the study was constituted of three Hospitals that perform transplants in Fortaleza in the state of Ceará in Brazil and ten hospital Commissions of Transplants and the Center of Transplants of the Secretary of Health of the State of Ceará. The studied population was composed by the coordinator of the Central Office of Transplants of Ceará, seven nurses, one social assistant of the institution, four coordinators of the center of transplants and ten hospital coordinators of organs and tissues donation. The collection of data, in the quantitative phase, consisted of the verification of statistical and indicating data of transplants in the Center of transplants of the Ceará, and in the qualitative phase of the application of a structured questionnaire and semi structured interview. In the quantitative phase, the data had been analyzed statistically and decoded with the software Epi-Info, version the 6.04 and the results were presented in graphics and tables, while in the qualitative phase, this analysis was based in the method indicated by Bardin - Analysis of speech,
dividing the speeches into categories of analysis. The results of this research point out the necessity of changes in the strategies used by the Center of Transplants of Ceará, of the valuation of professionals in this institution and the
consideration of their opinions and suggestions as a useful way to improve the performance of the center of organs and tissues transplants, in an efficient and effective accomplishment of the politics of transplants in the State of the Ceará.
