Nursing Training of the State University of Pará:
conceptions and challenges facing the single health system
Keywords:
formation in nursing, curriculum, SUS (national health system)Abstract
This study´s aim is to identify conceptions and challenges of directors, teachers and students to the Nursing formation at the University of Pará State (UEPA) and their relations to the principles of National Health System (SUS). Descriptive study in qualitative approach. Data was collected by using semi-structured interview and focal group techniques with directors, teachers and students, and was submitted to content analysis. It was found, based on subjects’ manifestations, formation based on fragmented curricular models, without connecting disciplines, as well as the absence of integration between teachers, the formation institution and SUS. However, it was also found some changes in paradigms in UEPA’s nursing formation, making possible an education model based on reflexive and critical theories. The conclusion is that UEPA’s formation in nursing signalizes changes in pedagogical practices and health attention integrality. We recommend: more University investment on Pedagogical Projects implementation, to assegurate the exchange between formation institution, SUS and community, to qualify the academic community to adopt the new curricular model, encourage the participation of university segments on Nursing formation programs, and watch and evaluate directors, teachers, students and egresses practices, aiming at the formation to the SUS.
