The Recent Modernization of Public Administrations in the National and Local Context
Keywords:

The administrative reforms that have been introduced in the State in the recent decades demonstrate that, although neo-liberalism is present in the administrative processes of the State, there has also been a popular and democratic reaction to the changes to ensure that the public interest would not be supplanted by the private ones. We will look into the evolution of the model from the pure managerialism towards the proposed public governance. We will also observe that, from the point of view of the public servants, the administrative reform brought about paradoxes that do not provide a bureaucratic cohesion in defense of the proposal. This reality has allowed bureaucratic setbacks that can delay the acculturation of the managerialist model.
