This article aims to bring the trajectory and consolidation of the Black Movement in Ceará through the role of black women, decentralizing it to the region of Cariri, Ceará, a place where the performance and female leadership of the Grupo de Valorização Negra do Cariri is necessary for the reconfiguration of the Afro-Ceará identity. This group is a non-profit entity, founded in 2001, which, since its foundation, has been fighting for public policies for the black population in Caririense through the daily articulation of the black women who lead the group. For the realization of this writing, the following references and theoretical guidelines were used: Almeida (2018), Domingues (2007), Gonzalez (2018), Nascimento, A. (1978), Nascimento, J. (2012), Ratts (1991), Soares (2016), Sousa (2006) and Valério (2014), who, with sensitive eyes, focused on black Brazilian and Afro-Ceará movements as important concepts that need to be understood. In this study, it was possible to deepen the theoretical-practical aspects of the contemporary demands and mobilizations of the Black Movement in Ceará, especially in Cariri from Ceará, for assistance and guidance from black women.
