Abstract

The present study, of qualitative eminence, discussed the health of the black population and the intersections of race/color in the kidney transplant service. It is noteworthy that the research aimed to understand how the expressions of racial inequalities impact on the health-disease process of users linked to the Transplant Center of the Walter Cantídio University Hospital, located in Fortaleza-CE. On the methodological aspects, the following research techniques were used: simple observation, semi-structured interview and documentary analysis. In a way, it was found that there are disparities in access to the transplant service, and the black population is the target of prejudice, discrimination and institutional racism. Thus, it was found that social inequities stimulate the violation of human rights.
