This article aims to analyze two editorial collections launched during the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil. The collections “Pandemia Capital”, launched for Boitempo, and “2020 - Essays on the pandemic”, launched by Todavia, serve as case studies to observe central elements of the configuration of the contemporary publishing market in Brazil. Through an analysis of titles, authors and formats, means of dissemination and other general characteristics of the publishers in question, it was possible to perceive similarities between the initiatives that are quite revealing of the tendencies of book publishing in the country. The bet on the digital format, the intense performance on social networks, the short narratives, with short texts, the standardization of prices and graphic projects are some of the elements that unite both initiatives, serving as a parameter to think about a new time in the Brazilian publishing industry.
