The article aims to discuss the context of the live performance of the Mancapuru’s Festival of Cirandas amid the current scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic, focusing on one of the associations, “Ciranda Tradicional”. To this end, an ethnographic study was developed, based on my involvement in the event, as a guest-participant in the field. The data make it possible to point out the party as an artistic and popular cultural expression of the city, which allows the actors to signify their own lives through the making of the event, subjectively and identitively. Some outstanding conclusions are the potency of the Cirandas Festival as part of the experience of the residents, the playful and the workers and of art as a social element and of the concrete making that allows collective catharsis in a difficult moment of isolation, allowing for a new meaning, still that temporary, of the virus that plagued the world.
