Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the scope of the forced migration of Central American migrants from the Northern Triangle of Central America to US and to reflect on the situation of the population in their transit through Mexico, using a qualitative methodology through semi- structured interviews with the main actors responsible for the migratory phenomenon. The main findings determined that the systemic and direct violence are a transversal axis both in the countries of origin and on the main routes, carried out by transnational organized crime gangs, police and government officials who are covered by an immigration policy and international treaties that have criminalized the southern border of Mexico; increasing the vulnerability of the Central American migrant population that transits around the country, especially in the case of unaccompanied women, girls , and minor children.
