The main objective of the present work is to understand how the orality contributes to the understanding and recovery of the history of the Jeninpapo people Kanindé. Initially, the article raises questions about the construction process of image of the Indian, over time, to later try to understand how non-indian society behaves in the face of the resurgence of the indigenous, a process that has been going on for the past twenty years. In parallel, in this same period, the History has advanced its studies, mainly in relation to the collection methods of the empirical corpus. New elements, previously, never considered in the research have been occupying a relevant space in the analysis of man and his transformations in time. Within this perspective, we understand that the critical treatment of narratives legendary, through the guidance of the Oral History methodology it is configured as an important element for the construction of a socio-historical discourse.Downloads
