Abstract

The work with oral sources increases considerably in Brazil, mainly in the academic community. However, there is an inaccuracy as to the use of oral history methodology. This article is a construction of knowledge about this method, its scope and novelty. From the texts read and the experiences socialized in the works produced, oral history emerges as a path for the change in the relationship between interviewer and interviewee, presenting a version very rich history told by collaborators, ordinary people, valued as historical subjects. The transformation of the researcher and collaborator is inevitable.
