Reforms in Teacher Education until the early 1980s

Abstract

In this article, we discuss the transformations in teacher training at the medium level in the Normal mode. We will relate them to the changes experienced in school education, primarily in the early grades of elementary school, and in Brazilian capitalist society in general, from the mid-1940s to the early 1980s. We will rely on national level educational policy, particularly reforms involving initial teacher training.
