Abstract

All research in the field of social sciences implies a social and political issue. This is because scientific research constitutes a specific way of researchers’ insertion and participation in the social reality. Social issues are problems that emerge from a material and social reality (real-social), for which a solution must be thought from a different perspective. In this current case, the analysis addresses ways of manipulation/construction of social categories, found through observations made within the framework of social relations established by youths from the suburbs of the Municipality of Caruaru, in the hinterland of the State of Pernambuco, who are part of the Hip hop Movement of Morro Bom Jesus, in that city.
