Abstract

This article looks for to interpret the visions of the civil society on the violence and public safety’s politics, taking as reference the data collected through a survey accomplished by PLANEFOR (I Glide Strategic of the Metropolitan Area of Fortaleza) in 2001, with the participants of the Cycle of Debates Public Safety Right of Citizenship, in Fortaleza. The survey looked for to identify, in the sections of the civil society, strategies and proposed of actions that shimmer exits for this problem. It is treated, because, of a critical reflection that seeks to identify the understanding tendencies concerning the violence and your relationship with possible strategies and actions proposed in terms of public politics, in the sense of contributing for the legitimation of democratic alternatives, heading for the construction of a State of Right in our country.
